October 27, 2025
In prior months I’ve done a bad job of keeping these top of mind so I will print these and keep them with me and look at them first thing in the AM and keep on my desk.
- Printed out, put it in my backpack but referred to it rarely. Next step it sits on my desk or atleast reviewed in the AM each day
Find New Project
My current project most likely ends at the end of November which means in the next few weeks I gotta figure out what comes next. I have a great client and A+ team but have been with the same client for nearly two years. A consistent consulting (and life) dilemma is do you stick with what you know or try something new. I’m fortunate that I’m at a point in my career with the firm where with little effort I have a few opportunities I can chose from vs. being sent somewhere. Need to spend some time really doing diligence on these opportunities for what comes next
- Got staffed on a new thing that should carry through a good chunk of January. Struggled a bit managing two things at once but liking the team on the new thing. Will probably still need to do some networking if this new thing isn’t permanent.
Mobility Work and PRP Recovery
Start of Q3 I stretched every night before bed and want to bring that back. I also paid a pretty penny out of pocket for PRP injections that will mean I have to slow down my activity for a few weeks post injection which will not be easy.
- Good not great. I’m done with the PRP injections and am not sure if there’s been an impact yet. I relinked up with a great doctor who hopefully will have more insight.
AI Experimentation
I do not feel that I am behind the curve of AI but I want to up my reps with AI tools both for fun and for work. I’m going to explore some combination of: Perplexity’s Comet, DIA Browser, Vercel, Replit, Cursor and build something with AI. Might record and stream it for posterity.
- Perplexity has become a multiple times a day tool and it gets maybe 30% of my googles. I didn’t try anything else besides that. ‘
- Below is a comparison table I made that I’m very proud of and took a ton of prompting

Moderate my phone usage
I’m convinced now more than ever that success in modern life is being proactive with our use of technology and not reactive. In my business it is delicate to find the balance of allowing for deep work while still being appropriately responsive. I’ve renabled some rules on JOMO to help with this and plan on keeping my phone away from me when possible and swapping social media for Kindle.
I explore this further in I Tested Google’s NotebookLM.
- Better, keeping the phone away from me during the work day has been really helpful as has Jomo phone limits
House Hunting
My wife and I have been swirling for a while on where we want to plant our flag and want to spend the remainder of the year and at least Q1 looking at homes to buy to see if the math makes sense for our life.
- We bought a house! Proud of how we handled the whole situation. I struggled with figuring out the right time to bid. Do you keep searching or stop? My uncle introduced me to a paper on the “secretary problem” which was pretty insightful.
Stealth 200
Traveling for a good chunk of Q4 so won’t be able to hit 300 but 200 is very doable and would love to end closer to 250.
- Writing this on 12/24 where i’m at 165 so will end up missing this buy a bit. Being in office has really impacted my ability to hit this number. Will try for 200 again next quarter.
Expand working with my assistant
Things are going well with my assistant. I am very much the bottleneck in reviewing her work in a timely matter. Access continues to be a challenge as I don’t feel comfortable delegating my inbox or other key assets yet which is entirely about me not her. Most of the work I give her is one off projects of 0-10 hours. I’m craving and working towards developing larger books of work that need less oversight. Very proud of myself for crafting this muscle as its been a want for years.
- Continued progress. Am less of a bottleneck and thinking more about recurring tasks vs. a bunch of one offs.
Keep steps above 9000 daily average
Whoop undercounts steps and doesn’t handle treadmill very well so getting above 10k average per day is unrealistic but continuing 9000 would be a good stretch goal especially if I’m going to have to take time off for PRP injections
- October I hit 9,100 ish steps and it took a nose dive in Nov and December. Part of this was due to PRP injections where I took it easy two weeks after each injection. 9k daily feels nearly impossible. Think i can realistically hover around 7-8k.
The end.
