Yesterday as part of 100School’s 30 Days of AI, they encouraged us to try out Google DeepMind’s NotebookLM tool.
I had Packy McCormick’s explainer of Andreessen Horowitz on my reading list for a while but never got around to reading it.
So I decided to put NotebookLM to the test.
The Experiment
I plopped the article into NotebookLM and in about 3 clicks it produced some impressive results. If you’ve been exploring thoughts on AI and wondering what these tools can actually do, this experiment was eye-opening.
The Results
Here’s what NotebookLM generated:
-
A 15 minute podcast (You can tell it’s AI but still pretty great!!)
-
A mind map about major topics in the article
-
A presentation deck (This took perhaps 5 minutes and is visually stunning and a great explainer)
Key Takeaways
NotebookLM transformed a long-form article I’d been putting off into multiple digestible formats in just minutes. Three clicks gave me a podcast, a mind map, and a visually stunning deck. For anyone looking to learn from content more efficiently, this tool delivers. The original article can be found here.
AI tools like NotebookLM are changing how we consume and process information. What once sat on a reading list for weeks can now become actionable learning material in minutes. It’s similar to how startup school programs compress learning into intensive formats.
Give NotebookLM a try with that article you’ve been meaning to read.
