Nick’s 2-Hour Cocktail Party

Mike Smith here. Welcome to my corner of the web. I am a management consultant, entrepreneur and investor who enjoys the sport of business, reading, standup comedy, silent discos, fitness, volunteering, and playing tech support for my grandmother.
I love setting up systems, operating manuals and building solutions to roadblocks. I’m great at making the trains run on time and live by the quote “prior preparation prevents poor performance”. I frequently serve as a fractional chief of staff to business owners
Startups, entrepreneurship, innovation, disruption, acceleration, and incubation are not just buzzwords to me. Over the years I have reviewed thousands of companies for dozens of investors as well as corporates looking for the next big thing.
I’ve sold everything from single digits SaaS subscriptions up to mid six figure businesses and have learned what it takes to find, qualify and sell through a variety of channels including cold email, social media, content marketing and channel partnerships.
I call Mike the process police. He makes sure everyone and everything is on track and offer an easy action plan when things go off the rails
You provide me with reality checks as a service. I make a plan and then you poke holes in it in a creative way that expands my thinking and doesn’t make me feel bad
I joke that Mike is like having braces, but for my business. He guided me into the position I need to be in. I’ll admit it was a little challenging or awkward at times but the results last and were worth the growing pains
